Pacific Rim National Park Reserve of Canada is composed of three geographically separate units: The Long Beach Unit is located between the villages of Ucluelet and Tofino, and named after the16 km (10 miles) sandy beach of Wickaninnish Bay. The Broken Group Islands Unit is an archipelago of more than one hundred islands and rocks scattered throughout Barkley Sound and is accessible by boat only. A short 30 min drive from Victoria to the top of the Malahat (Highway 1) will
reward you with views of the Saannich Peninsula and the Gulf Islands. Several viewpoints and rest stops along the way. Stops of interest include Goldstream Provincal Park and Campgrounds, Spectacle Lake, and Shawnigan Lake. Viewpoint at the large rock buff provides the best opportunity for photos
